Project description

Van den Nagel Modulaire Bouw realized ten modular flex homes for housing association Vivare in Oosterbeek. The homes were placed near an earlier project consisting of 44 flex homes and therefore form an extension of the temporary housing facilities at this location.

By applying modular building, the homes could be produced efficiently and installed on site within a short period of time. The units were delivered fully finished and ready for immediate occupancy. Because most of the construction process takes place in a factory environment, the installation time on site was significantly reduced and disruption for the surrounding area remained minimal.

Sustainable and energy-efficient homes

The flex homes feature a high-quality wooden façade finish that gives the buildings a natural and modern appearance. In addition, the homes fully comply with the Dutch BENG energy performance standards for nearly energy-neutral buildings.

Thanks to good insulation, efficient installations and a well-designed indoor climate, residents benefit from comfortable living spaces with low energy consumption. The modular production process also ensures consistent quality and efficient use of materials.

Flexible and reusable housing concept

The project was developed with flexibility and reusability in mind. The homes are expected to remain at the current location for approximately five years. After that period, the units will be relocated to a new site where they can be reused for temporary housing.

This modular approach allows housing organizations and municipalities to respond quickly to the growing demand for affordable housing, while ensuring that the buildings can be reused in the future. Instead of demolition, the homes receive a second life at another location.

With this project, Van den Nagel Modulaire Bouw demonstrates how modular construction can provide fast, sustainable and flexible housing solutions for modern residential challenges.
